FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Thousands of people filled the Fresno Fairgrounds Sunday to take part in the annual week-long Hmong New Year celebration.
Every year the celebration kicks of on December 26 and lasts through January 1.
Visitors get to enjoy a variety of food, music, and games including the traditional ball toss which, organizers say, was a way to socialize long before electronics were around. This year, the timing coincides with the opening of the Hmong Story 40 exhibit, which showcases the struggles of migrants from Southeast Asia.
