FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The equipment is constantly whirring as crews at California Tiny House build tiny houses from their Central Fresno business.
"Most of our homes are under 350 square feet. It's all really usable space, your stair cases, house, refrigerators, closets. Everything in the house is functional," said Nick Mosley, California Tiny House co-owner.
Nick Mosley and his dad Pat are co-owners of California Tiny House. Pat worked for years in the construction industry, even with his son. In 2014, they decided to start this new venture
"I've got five boys. The whole family is involved so it's a real family adventure," said Pat Mosley.
All of the homes are custom built. The price tag for tiny living starts at $47-thousand and goes up depending on the features inside.
"We have young just married couples moving in. We have retirees. We have people who just want to downsize their life and live more affordably," said Nick.
The homes have been sold across the state and the Fresno business has received national attention in Tiny House Magazine and HGTV's Tiny House Hunters. They say the tiny movement is growing.
The company has built six homes and now have another 10 homes on a list waiting to be constructed.
"We're usually building two at once. We've hired people and we'll probably keep hiring people to keep up with demand," said Nick.
Right now it takes them 4 to 6 weeks to build the homes. It's work this valley family is proud of.
"We're probably one of the top 5 builders in the nation right now. We've come a long ways in a short amount of time," said Pat.
