2 men arrested for stealing gas from Madera gas station, police say

MADERA, Calif. (KFSN) -- Two men are in jail, accused of stealing fuel from a Madera gas station.

Police were called out to the business on Gateway Drive off of Olive at about 4 am Monday.

They found two men, identified as Cesar Perez and Oscar Machado, pumping diesel fuel into large plastic containers in the back of a box truck.

Officers say they had taken over $1,000 worth of gas for free.

Both men were arrested for fraud and theft charges.
