Male victim shot on busy street in Madera

Madera police say a young man has died after being shot near a busy street in the middle of the day.

Officers rushed to El Dorado Drive, just off Highway 145, around 1:00 Tuesday afternoon. They say someone in a vehicle opened fire on a 21-year-old Madera man who was walking in that area.

He was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

Detectives are not releasing details about any possible suspects at this point but they believe the shooting was gang-related.
