Man killed by train in Tulare

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- An investigation is underway in Tulare after a man was hit and killed by a train. It happened before 9:30 p.m. Sunday on the railroad tracks near Tulare Avenue and J Street.

Witnesses told Tulare police the man was running and tried to beat the train, when he was hit. Officers found him dead on the tracks.

The man's identity is being withheld until his family is notified.
