Merced police officer involved in car crash

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The crash occurred after 11 a.m. near Olive and R Street in Merced. The police officer was driving with emergency lights and siren on when the patrol car collided with another vehicle in the intersection.

Video from Merced Gateway News shows the damage sustained by the patrol car in the crash.

It is not clear what caused the vehicles to collide but the officer and the other driver were not injured in the collision.
