1 injured in Central Fresno shooting

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Fresno Police are investigating an overnight shooting in Central Fresno that sent one man to the hospital.

It happened near First Street and White Avenue, near Belmont, just before midnight on Thursday. When police arrived they found a man in the street suffering from several gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital for surgery.

Officers say they don't know exactly where the shooting happened. They are however looking for a car they say speed away as they arrived.

There is no word on the victim's condition.
