FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A convicted child molester who targeted at least 17 young students is set for release from Coalinga State Hospital in the next three days.

Alan Thomas Rigby, 66, served about 10 years in state prison before serving another 16 years at the mental hospital. He was convicted of abusing at least 17 students while he was a P.E. teacher in Corona Del Mar.

A superior court judge determined on Thursday that Rigby could be released within the next 72 hours. Rigby tells the courts he plans to live with his sister in Pennsylvania, Michigan or New York.
