LOS BANOS, Calif. (KFSN) -- Authorities are looking for suspects who they say shot and killed a teenager in Los Banos on Sunday.
The teen boy was found in a neighborhood near San Luis Street and Ward Road. Los Banos police received a call just before 7 p.m. They say the teenage victim and his two friends were in a nearby park, when they got into an argument with five suspects.
At some point, someone fired a gun and hit the teen who tried to run away.
"From what we can tell, he ran away from the park to get away from the shooting and eventually fell down about a block away. That's where the officers found him, rendered first aid, CPR. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead at the scene," said Los Banos Police Chief Gary Brizzee.
The victim's identity has not been released. Police say all the suspects ran away in different directions.
Detectives spent several hours looking for evidence in the area. At this point, they do not know whether this shooting was gang-related.
