TULARE COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) -- The Tulare County Sheriff's Department spotted a small brush fire from above the Valley floor on Friday.

Sheriff One was flying over Stokes Mountain, when an officer onboard saw smoke and had the pilot circle back. They contacted the Tulare County Fire Department, who put the fire out.

The fire sparked on the edge of what appeared to be an area being prepared for marijuana planting. A building on the property was not damaged.

Sheriff One is equipped with state-of-the- art equipment to help officers keep a lookout for smoke and flames in fire season.
