MIDLAND, TX -- The Midland Police Department's bomb squad aided The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives in disposing a different kind of explosive -- fireworks!
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives had nearly 20,000 pounds of fireworks in custody, obtained from Glasscock County. In a Facebook post, Midland Police Department claimed that the "disposal was very informative for our bomb techs who are charged with handling explosives". The whole disposal process took a little over three days.
The disposal itself was a plume of smoke with the fireworks sparks creating a starry and "mesmerizing" effect.
