FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Hundreds of people helped raise money for a local animal shelter Sunday while getting in the Halloween spirit.
The first ever Furry Fall Festival was held at the Valley Animal Center. It was all for the center and their mission to save dogs and cats.
"We're actually the largest non-profit no-kill shelter and we receive no public funding whatsoever to do what we do here and rescue the animals and care for them," Nina Tonnu with the center said. "So, events like the Furry Fall Festival allow us to raise money and continue to care for animals in need."
There was also a costume contest for the adoptable animals and celebrity judges like Victor E. Bulldog.
