FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) -- Manning Avenue in Western Fresno County is back open after it was closed for hours because of flooding. It was shut down Tuesday night when a muddy river started crossing the road near Interstate 5 around 8:30 p.m. It left a big mess on Manning, as well as on the properties on both sides of the street.
At least one big rig got stuck in the mud and had to be towed out. Crews were able to scrape the mud off the road overnight and get traffic flowing again.
Officials believe the water was most likely runoff from thunderstorms that hit the coastal mountains nearby Tuesday night.
