VIDEO: Sisters jump from moving car during Redlands carjacking
A frightened 10-year-old girl grabbed her 2-year-old sister and jumped from a moving car during a carjacking at a gas station in Redlands on Sunday.

REDLANDS, Calif. -- A frightened 10-year-old girl grabbed her 2-year-old sister and jumped from a moving car during a carjacking at a gas station in Redlands on Sunday.



Police are asking for the public's help in locating the suspect identified as Cory Michael Ahumada, 24, of Highland.



The incident occurred at a 7-Eleven gas station in the 1100 block of Lugonia Avenue at about 12:41 p.m.



The victim parked her 2002 Acura TL at the gas pump and left her two daughters in the vehicle with the engine running while she went inside to pay, Redlands police said. Ahumada allegedly got in the driver's seat and drove away as the victim ran out of the store.



Surveillance video shows the older girl grabbing her sister and jumping from the moving vehicle in an attempt to escape. Both children suffered minor injuries, but were said to be OK.



Cory Michael Ahumada, 24, of Highland is wanted by police in connection to an alleged car theft and carjacking at a gas station in the 1100 block of Lugonia Avenue in Redlands.

Ahumada made a purchase at the 7-Eleven before the incident and was subsequently identified from the surveillance video footage.
