Clovis man accused of burglarizing 7 churches, 7 schools, and a warehouse

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The Fresno County Sheriff's Office said they arrested 37-year-old Ricardo David Garcia of Clovis. He is facing 15 counts of felony burglary.

The Sheriff's Office said they arrested earlier this month after a tip on his whereabouts. They said when he was taken into custody, he was also in possession of methamphetamine.

Detectives say Garcia burglarized seven schools, seven churches, and one commercial warehouse between March 12th and August 31. They said all the school break-ins and thefts happened while schools were on summer break. They said he would break windows and pry open doors to get electronics such as televisions and computers.

5/22/15 Kings Canyon High School, Dinuba

6/23/15 Westside Elementary, Five Points

7/12/15 Trinity Community Church, Clovis

7/22/15 Pacific Union Elementary, Fresno

7/25/15 Clay Joint Elementary, Kingsburg

7/27/15 Malaga Elementary, Fresno

8/7/15 Well Community Church, Fresno

8/7/15 Sierra Lutheran Church, Auberry

8/7/15 Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Prather

8/9/15 Sears Warehouse, Fresno

8/12/15 Colony Covenant Church, Kingsburg

8/23/15 Calvary Baptist Church, Fresno

8/23/15 Alvina Elementary, Fresno

8/31/15 Clay Joint Elementary, Kingsburg

Three of the locations had video surveillance and two of the location were broken into twice.

Detectives say he may be tied to more burglaries that are still under investigation.
