1 dead in Soberanes Fire in Monterey County

MONTEREY COUNTY, Calif. -- CAL FIRE reports a bulldozer operator was killed overnight, while on the fire line in Monterey County.

The wildfire has burned nearly 24,000 acres and is still going strong. It's only 10 percent contained. The fire has destroyed 20 homes since it broke out on Friday.

CAL FIRE estimates another 2,000 are threatened. Evacuees are taking shelter at Carmel Middle School.
