Chowchilla couple gets engagement photos back, thanks to social media
What was supposed to be an intimate proposal between a Chowchilla man and his girlfriend, turned into an Internet sensation.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- What was supposed to be an intimate proposal between a Chowchilla man and his girlfriend, turned into an internet sensation.

Tyler Cook took his girlfriend Yvette Mendez to see a movie at River Park on a Sunday morning, afterwards he asked Yvette to marry him inside a photo booth. As soon as the countdown began, Tyler popped the question and the camera captured it all.

The only problem was, Tyler and Yvette left some of the photos behind.

Later that day Amy Chavira Nehring of Madera came across the pictures. She immediately took to social media and asked if anybody knew the newly engaged couple "I immediately thought 'oh no! They forgot their pictures. And when my husband proposed to me I didn't get pictures of mine -- all that I have is my memory," said Nehring.

"It brings joy to my heart to know that somebody will go to some sort of length to try and reach out. And it was very nice to meet them in person for the first time," said Tyler Cook, newly engaged.

It took just one hour for Yvette to contact Amy, and today the two couples met for the first time. Tyler and Yvette gave Amy and her husband one set of the engagement pictures along with an invite to their wedding -- which is set for May of next year.
