Free-agent guard Patrick Beverley has agreed to a three-year, $40 million deal to stay with the LA Clippers, his agent, Kevin Bradbury, told ESPN.
Beverley was one of the most pursued guards in the marketplace. His tenacious, versatile play had a huge role in the Clippers' surprising run to the postseason and their six-game playoff series against the Golden State Warriors.
Beverley, who turns 31 on July 12, averaged 7.6 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.8 assists in 78 games for the Clippers.
He holds career averages of 9.0 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.2 steals over seven seasons with the Rockets and Clippers.
