LOS ANGELES -- A plane carrying the Los Angeles Dodgers was diverted to Los Angeles International Airport Sunday after mechanical issues were reported, a team spokesman confirmed.
The team had departed from San Diego for Dallas on a United Airlines charter flight when the issue was reported at about 8 p.m.
The plane landed at LAX without incident, according to FAA officials. Los Angeles firefighters were on standby.
The teams was switching planes, a Dodgers spokesman said.
