TULARE, Calif. (KFSN) -- Tulare Union High School welcomed home 2006 graduate and Denver Broncos' Super Bowl Champion Virgil Green.

They called it Virgil Green Day, and it included a parade and pep rally. He may have been cut from the NFL, but his younger brother, Jeremiah Green, is still pushing forward.

He believes failure is simply a state of mind. "All you gotta do is do 1 percent better than you did yesterday and you're doing alright," Green said.

Green is building a foundation to get others fit for life at his new Visalia gym, Green's Athletic Performance.

He and his brother, a recent Super Bowl Champion, started the gym. "It's awesome that he won the Super Bowl, and it's a great thing that he's able to kinda be an example for the Central Valley of being hard-working, having determination, and overcoming obstacles, but the biggest thing that I see is a lot of humility," Green said.

The Green brothers went to Tulare Union High School, and Friday, staff and students had a parade and pep rally celebrating Virgil's accomplishments. "The city has always been behind me since the day I left here to go to college," Green said. "So it's great to get back in the city talk to the kids, be amongst all the people, and it's just great to be a part of all of this."

Whether it's a doctor, lawyer, or NFL player, Green told current Tulare Union students that with hard work and dedication, they can do it.

He's proud of himself and proud of his younger brother. "He's doing a great job of training people, trying to change people's lives, and being a motivator to them as well," Green said.

It's two brothers, motivating others to be champions. The grand opening for Green's Athletic Performance is Saturday from 4 to 6 p.m.

The public is welcome to attend and Virgil will be signing autographs.
