FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- This holiday season, many will buy presents at big box store, but there's a growing trend of consumers shopping locally.

At Basilwood Farms, it all starts with the goats. Inside the soap room, mom Jill Spruance and daughter Shelby are busy making their next batch of goat's milk soap. A gift they hope others will think of this holiday season.

Jill said, "So we pour a lot of love into our family and I think that comes out in our product too."

There are 30 scented bars from pumpkin spice to pixie dust. The soaps and other handmade lotions are sent from the Prather farm all over the country.

At Vintage on Fourth in Old Town Clovis, there's no shortage of gift giving ideas that are local.

Vintage on Fourth owner, Karen Chisum, said, "What's fun about shopping local is things are unique, you're not going to find them in the big box store. They're made by local artist who are following a dream and your purchase of their product is supporting their family."

From knitted hats to jewelry to dcor -- there's items for those big and small on your Christmas list.

Looking for a treat head to Enzo's Table, formerly known as Bella Fruta. The store carries a large selection of dried fruit, nuts, olive oil and sweets.

Vinci Ricchiuti with Enzo's Table said, "Its helping our region spread the message of what we have to share and it's giving back."

The makers at Iron Copper Bronze are hand crafting beautiful bags and totes in Downtown Fresno.

Bibi Bielat with Iron Copper Bronze said, "We get our leather from different suppliers in the United States, we get the copper rivets in the United States, all of the buckles are made in the United States. So everything is made in the USA, made in Fresno, made by us."

The designers say every bag is an art form that hope people can carry with them for a long time.

So whether it's goats milk soap or a hand crafted bag, these local businesses say each package or product is a labor of love they hope you will share with your loved ones this Christmas.
