FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Two women are behind bars on child abuse charges after Visalia police say one of the young victims made a call for help.
Officers went to a home on Northwest 2nd Avenue near Pearl Street around 5:30 p.m. Sunday after getting a call from a 12-year-old girl. They found her and three other children -- ages 7, 9, and 14 -- home alone with injuries consistent with child abuse, according to police.
The children told detectives that their mother, 30-year-old Isabel Sanchez, and her live-in girlfriend, 26-year-old Corina Avalos, abused them. Both Sanchez and Avalos were arrested and booked into the Tulare County Pre-Trial Facility.
The four kids were placed with Child Welfare Services.
