VISALIA, Calif. (KFSN) -- In the South Valley this weekend you can support men and women in blue and officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

The Visalia Police Officer's Association will hold a special screening of the documentary called Fallen at the Visalia Fox Theater on Saturday night.

The association will also introduce their new Visalia Police Officer's Foundation.

The local foundation will support the families of officers who have been injured or died in the line of duty. They also hope to raise money for trauma kits for first responders, in case they need one in a major incident like an active shooter situation.

"We've seen nationally more and more incidents where officers are being ambushed and killed. Also firefighters and paramedics, so we think it's important that we provide that gear to our first responders so that they are able to save themselves when they're trying to save other people," said Thomas Higgins, Visalia Police Officer's Association.

Tickets for the event are still available at the Fox Theater box office.

The event features local food and a beer garden, and the film will start around 7:00 p.m.
