Home of William Saroyan burglarized in Central Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Fresno Police say a plaque honoring the Oscar and Pulitzer Prize winning author was stolen.

Investigators said the house is located on Griffith Way, just west of Copper Middle School. William Saroyan lived in the home for the last 17 years of his life. It is listed on the local register of historic resources.

Recently, the home went into foreclosure and sits empty with the windows boarded up.

Anyone with information on the theft, or the location of the historical plaque is asked to contact the Fresno Police Department at 621-STOP.
