Valley homeowners in danger of foreclosure because of adjustable mortgage rates got a second chance to avoid losing their homes.Assemblyman Mike Villines hosted a mortgage forum and workshop in Fresno Saturday. "You could come here with your paperwork and meet with somebody today to see if we could lock in your rate and not have it adjust," says Villines.

Homeowners got to meet with representatives from the state of California in addition to lenders, counselors and fraud prevention experts.

If you're at risk of losing your home but missed Saturday's event, state leaders urge you to contact your lender. But if someone other than your lender contacts you, beware of fraud.

Rosario Marin, State & Consumer Services Secretary, says "We know that there are a lot of scam artists out there. We know people are being victimized twice. So, please, make sure you do business with people that are real."
