Crushing High Polluting Cars

Fresno The San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District is crushing high-polluting cars to help reduce emissions.

The Air District will pay either $1,000 or $5,000 for certain vehicles that continually fail smog tests.

Vehicle owners who receive $5,000 must use it toward the purchase of a newer, cleaner-burning car or pick-up.

This program is by invitation only. The Air District will contact those owners whose vehicles qualify.
