Two Shootings in Merced

Merced The first shooting happened just after 1:30 a.m. on Park near West Olive, a few blocks from the Merced Mall. The victim saw some guys having a party at his apartment complex and he says one of them shot him for no reason.

On John Street on the south side of town an elderly man got hit in a driveby shooting. He was inside a house and police say the shooter was probably aiming for someone else.

The bullet actually ricocheted off the front door and a kitchen cabinet before hitting the man, so it barely hurt him.
