Fresno Co. Deputy Shoots Attacking Dog

A Fresno County Sheriff's Deputy had to shoot a dog which got in his way while he was chasing a suspect.It happened Friday Morning when deputies interrupted a man in the process of stripping a car near Cherry and Britten just after 7am. The man ran into a nearby shed.

When a deputy chased him, a loose dog attacked the deputy and he had to shoot it. The dog was not killed and ran off.

A K-9 officer was eventually sent in to get the suspect.

He was arrested and taken to the hospital with bite wounds. He'll face possession of stolen property and resisting arrest charges.
