Wyeth cancer lawsuit winner dies in Nevada

She was 65-years-old and under hospice care
6/22/2008 RENO, Nev. Pamela Forrester was 65-years-old and under hospice care for lung cancer when she died Thursday.

She and two other women were awarded 58 million dollars after a Nevada jury found that their breast cancer was caused by the drug Prempro, made by pharmaceutical giant, Wyeth. The company is appealing the decision.

It's the largest award to date against the New Jersey-based drug maker. Wyeth faces more than 5,000 similar lawsuits across the country in state and federal courts.

All of the suits involve Prempro and Premarin, which are prescribed to women to ease symptoms of menopause.
