Fires in the Foothills

Fresno, CA The three burning out of control right now include the West Fall Fire near Fish Camp. It has scorched more than 60 acres and is 40% percent contained.

The Silver Knob Fire has charred more than 400 acres near Oakhurst and is 10% percent contained.

The Oliver Fire has burned more than 500 acres near Ponderosa Basin. Firefighters are still working to contain that fire. About 100 homes in that community could be at risk if the wind pushes the fire down a nearby mountain ridge.

The Mariposa County Sheriff's Department has issued pre-evacuation notices to Ponderosa Basin residents, but no one has been ordered to evacuate.
