FTC warns of voter fraud

8/11/2008 The government says callers claim to be with local boards of elections or other civic groups and ask for social security or credit card numbers.

The callers claim to need the information to confirm if the person is registered to vote. The FTC says legitimate voter registration drives are generally done in person or mailed to you.
