A handful of local Republicans gathered at the home of Fresno City Councilman Jerry Duncan in northwest Fresno. They cheered as the self proclaimed "hockey mom" went on the offensive against her democratic rivals.
"She is amazing...she epitomizes the Republican Party. She is everything that I ever dreamed she would be. She completes our party," said Fresno County GOP Executive Director Holly Carter.
"She laid out everything in a straightforward manner. I was very impressed," said Fresno resident Clarke Plunkett.
"I think what she did tonight was show that she is a leader," said Fresno City Councilman Jerry Duncan.
Local Republicans will hold a public viewing party Thursday night for when John McCain takes center stage. That will be held at Aqua-Shi in northeast Fresno.
