Corcoran Hospital Cutbacks

September 24, 2008 12:00:00 AM PDT
Officials at Corcoran's main hospital say they must start turning people away because they can't afford to treat the hospital's current patient load. Layoffs may also be necessary at Corcoran District Hospital after some cost control measures that went into effect at the hospital in June.

Because of state budget cuts, the hospital is receiving less funding from Medi-Cal. Administrators said the cuts won't affect emergency room care, the hospital's clinics, or outpatient services.
