Dow Chemical Job Cuts Hit California

Job cuts are hitting close to home here in California.Dow Chemical has announced it plans on eliminating more than 5,000 jobs nationwide. That has workers at a Dow Chemical plant in the Bay Area worried.

Workers at the Pittsburg plant are on edge, waiting to find out if their plant will be affected. "It kind of leaves us uncertain. It's scary, the economy in general is scary right now," said Dow Chemical employee Francesca Johnson.

"Yeah in a way it makes you nervous, it makes everybody nervous. You must hope they continue to give us work," said Dow Chemical Employee Nathan Leiser.

The Dow plant in Pittsburg employs 330 people and about 125 contract employees.
