Fresno Church Vandalized

May 21, 2009 12:00:00 AM PDT
A Fresno pastor wants answers today after vandals struck his church overnight. Bottles of paint were thrown at the Cornerstone Church office in downtown Fresno. Vandals hit the building in a location with no surveillance cameras. The paint is high on the wall which means scaffolding may be needed to cover the spots.

Pastor Jim Franklin believes the vandalism could be connected to his activism in statewide politics. "This is really a battle about freedom of speech and freedom of religion. It emboldens us because these are our foundational principals of this nation."

Police responded to the scene and took a report. Franklin's church has experienced similar vandalism in the past year.
