June 8, 2009 12:00:00 AM PDT
Brazilian military authorities say boats searching the Atlantic Ocean have now recovered 24 bodies of passengers on an Air France flight that crashed eight days ago. Air Force Col. Henry Munhoz says eight more bodies were found Monday. He offered no details on their condition or gender.

The bodies were found near where 16 others were recovered since Saturday -- roughly 400 miles (640 kilometers) northeast of the Fernando de Noronha islands off Brazil's northern coast.

Air France Flight 447 crashed May 31 en route from Rio de Janeiro to Paris. All 228 people on board are presumed dead.
