Fresno Ammonia Leak Causes Evacuation

An ammonia leak forced the evacuation of two dozen employees from a Fresno meat product plant.Just after 8 o'clock Tuesday morning, the Fresno Fire Department responded to a report of an ammonia leak at "M-P Foods" on Fruit at Church in Southwest Fresno.

The Hazardous Materials Team measured toxic levels of ammonia in the air around a 10-thousand gallon tank. Crews shut down the compressor and evacuated the building.

There were no reports of injuries.
