Got Milk? Breakfast?

Fresno, CA Got Milk is partnering with Producer's Dairy and Fresno Unified for a high school breakfast challenge to try to increase the number of students who eat breakfast. Studies show starting the school day with a healthy meal can increase academic performance and overall health.

The district held a rally this morning at Fresno High to kick off the contest. The school that gets the most students to start eating breakfast on campus gets $2,500 dollars and bragging rights.

Student leaders said they're working hard to get their classmates motivated. "We made signs, it's really a school spirit thing. Pride, pride talk about pride, we really want to win, school of champions," said Fresno High Student President Daniel Perez.

The competition will run from August 24th through September 11th. The participating high schools include Bullard, Duncan, Edison, Fresno, Hoover, Mclane, Roosevelt, and Sunnyside High Schools.
