Sierra Summit to Hire up to 300 Employees

FRESNO, Calif. Organizers say two to three hundred people showed up on the first day of the Sierra Summit hiring fair-- they say come prepared for an interview.

News that Sierra Summit is looking to hire close to 300 employees spread quickly throughout the Central Valley.

Boomer Davaurs with Sierra Summit says they are already hard at work on the mountain. Because of the slow economy-- he says they are seeing a higher number of applicants this year-- and getting hired in a competitive market is all about how well you present yourself and work with the public. "We're a full service ski resort we have a hotel so we have food service positions, cashiers everything from ski instructors to patrolling," said Davaurs.

Osayamen Isibor has been snowboarding for five years, the Fresno State grad says this hiring fair comes at the perfect time. "Once I graduated there were no real full time jobs for coaching. I needed something to fill my gap before I go back to school next year," said Isibor.

He like hundreds of others are hoping to earn some extra cash while working through this holiday season.

The job fair will continue for the next two days. Organizers do not encourage commuting to Sierra Summit everyday they say if you are looking for a seasonal job be prepared to live on the mountain for a few months.
