Sexy Halloween costumes for women are nothing new, but now the selection for teenagers and even young girls is also filled with fishnet stockings, short skirts, and bare midriffs.

Parents taking their children shopping for their Halloween costumes say the trend is frightening ... and one psychologist says the message could also be dangerous.

Dr. Karen Carlquist-Hernandez said, "The image we're giving again is that we're sexualizing everything, we're making kids think that sex is what is important, that how you look is important. The number of eating disorders has increased tremendously over the last several years."

Most girls argue it's just fun to wear risqué costumes one night a year, but they do believe there's a limit for how young is too young to show so much skin.

Experts say it's ultimately up to parents to take a stand.
