In many cases, the seniors asked for lap blankets, hats, and scarves. And the community came together to grant their holiday wish.
"We're here on their backs. They've done everything for us and we're just trying to give back a little to them," said Sandy Burt with Home Instead Senior Care.
Hundreds of people participated in this year's "Be a Santa to a Senior" program, and Saturday, dozens of organizations teamed up to wrap all the items. They'll now be delivered to area nursing homes.
