Volunteers in Fresno Ship Medical Supplies to Haiti

FRESNO, Calif.

Volunteers with Medical Ministries International loaded up x-ray equipment this morning in Northeast Fresno.

The machines were donated by St. Agnes Hospital and San Joaquin Valley Rehabilitation, and within the next few weeks, they'll be headed to Haiti. But the ministry says collecting supplies is an ongoing effort.

"We have a shipment that is going to India on Thursday of this week that was already scheduled before the earthquake, and the shipment before that went to Loas. We've shipped to India, Congo, wherever the need is, we've shipped containers there," said Tom Stoeckel of Medical Ministries International.

The organization says within the last week, they've loaded 18 pallets of supplies to go to Haiti. For now, the items are all being stored in a Fresno County warehouse. And the ministry is accepting donations to help with shipping costs.
