Detectives arrested Ezquiel Castillo, Ramon Manzo, and a 17-year-old on Tuesday. And Wednesday they arrested Johnny Munoz.
Action News captured this exclusive video of detectives searching Munoz's apartment in Merced. He wasn't home, but they soon arrested him at the golf course where he works. All of the suspects are accused of shooting 17-year-olds Monica Garcia and Justin Gonzales outside Monica's Planada home Monday night. Monica was shot in the head ... Justin in the back of his leg.
Le Grand High School Principal, Javier Martinez said, "I'm just glad to say the kids are doing ok. I spent some time with them yesterday and both of them are doing great and in good spirits."
Investigators said the young couple was shot because Justin happened to be wearing a blue shirt. They say that's the rival color of the gang members who shot them. Students at Le Grand High School will hold a pep rally Friday in honor of the teens. A prayer walk in Planada is being planned for Saturday.
