Henry T. Perea resigns from Fresno council

Perea is leaving his council post a few weeks early ... allowing his replacement, Clint Olivier, an early start on the city council. That means Olivier could be the "deciding vote" on privatizing commercial garbage collection in Fresno.

Perea's resignation is effective on December 2nd -- the same day Olivier will be sworn in.

The council will vote on the privatization issue at their meeting on December 9th.
