Clint Olivier took the oath in Council Chambers in Downtown Fresno at 9 a.m. Thursday morning. Voters in district seven elected Olivier earlier this year.
The former journalist replaces Henry T. Perea who is getting ready to take his elected seat in the State Assembly. Voters in the 31st Assembly District elected Perea to replace outgoing Assemblyman Juan Arambula.
Other newly elected council members will be sworn in early next month.
