Outdoor ice rink in Old Town Clovis

The city opened an outdoor ice rink at Bullard and Pollasky avenues Saturday afternoon and children of all ages laced up their skates to test it out.

The ice rink is just part of the city's efforts to turn Old Town Clovis into a winter wonderland and a holiday shopping destination.

Families who came out today weren't disappointed.

"We wanted to come out and let the kids skate in Downtown Clovis. It's a wonderful time of the year and a wonderful experience. They had a lot of fun," Jeff Hibbard said.

The ice rink is open to the public through January 2, and prices start at $6 for a half hour session.

The city is hoping to make it an annual tradition.
