Feather Hair Extensions affects fishing industry

FRESNO, Calif.

Women in search of a budget-friendly way to dress up their hair are turning to feather hair extensions - as an alternative to costly highlights .

And that means they're taking tackle feathers, normally reserved for the fly-fishing industry.

Nationwide, supplies at fly fishing shops are running out.

Some feathers are selling online for hundreds of dollars more than the usual prices.

Fly fishermen say they're not happy about paying extra.

Most salons sell the feathers for up to $10 a piece.
