Police looking for N.E. Fresno home invasion suspect

FRESNO, Calif.

The attack happened Monday night at Shaw and Jackson, just across the street from Fresno State.

The man says a roommate had just left the apartment minutes before and the robber came in through an unlocked door.

Raymundo Vargas Valencia told Action News through an interpreter that the robber threw him around and then tied up his hands with tape.

"He earns his living collecting cans. It's very sad that a nice guy like him, this happened to him or anybody at all. It's horrible," neighbor Pablo Ceja Del Toro said.

Valencia said he suffers from heart problems and was just released from the hospital last week.

He's grateful he wasn't more seriously injured, but said important papers in his wallet were stolen.
