An employee found the bird on the sidewalk Monday. Since then, the red-tail hawk has been under the care of the Critter Creek Wildlife Station. Thursday volunteers placed the baby in a mock nest to entice the parents to come and reconnect with the baby.

"I had heard that this bird was downstairs and so I just wanted to go down and see him," Gloria Jenkins said. "And when I went to the window to look at him, he had cobwebs all over his head. And he just had no fear and he came right to me. And I just said I had to help this bird."

The Critter Creek Wildlife Station says it's not uncommon to see wildlife in urban areas like Downtown Fresno.
