Hay farmers benefit from dry January

A dry January is benefiting hay and grain growers in Northern California.

They say the weather has given them the chance to begin preparing their fields for planting. Around this time, hay growers stay indoors because of the wet and foggy weather -- limiting activity to only equipment maintenance. However, farmers say even though the weather is good enough to start planting, they may hold off until later this month to prevent crops from ripening too early.
